Well, since my Web page is focused on camping I decided to use this
as my podcast to blog about. I feel like alot of the podcasts I found, including this one, were boring but informational. I truly see hiking the Appalachian Trail as fun and exciting experience. A test of endurance. The Web site I included gives several podcasts with several stories and interviews with people who have, are, or will be hiking the AT and how they prepared. Anything dealing with this trail or backpacking in general interests me. I do wish, however, they would find some other background music, something more exciting.

BAD Website
I found so many bad websites that picking one was kinda difficult. I finally settled for http://www.dudestudios.com/
This website is so plain. I really don't know what they are even promoting. If what they are selling is a bunch of comic books that use the word "dude", how lame. I'm not impressed. Once you get into the actual Web site they list dates for author autographs and ways to purchase these comic books but I still find this Web site to be too simple and with little importance.

Website Criticism

I really enjoy learning more about survival. I am very interested in hiking this trail. This site has been and will continue to be useful as I prepare and learn how to successfully complete this hike in hopefully the next 10 years. I enjoy keeping up with ways I can help the conservation of these kinds of areas. This website allows me access to some of these things. I do however wish there were more ways to access people who have actually hiked the trail so I could hear first hand some of the things I will be facing. As silly as it sounds, I would also like to see more pictures. I enjoy imagining myself on the side of one of the beautiful mountains the appalachian trail leads to.

Website Concept
For my website concept I'm hoping to give you an informational site to how to hike the Appalachian Trail successfully. I want to answer some of the most frequently asked questions. I would like to show you some pictures of the trail along with other pictures of being in the wild. I am planning to do my video on how to pack most efficiently and what to bring. I might find a way to add some survival techniques. I will also include state by state maps including a full map of the trail. I want to provide you with shelters located on the trail. I also would like to give you some ways to get involved with the trail even if you do not have the desire to actually hike the whole thing. I'm hoping to give you enough information that you will at least understand why I desire to hike this trail so much.

Revolutionary Changes
Frances Cairncross pointed out several important developments in communication that we should, as a nation, be informed of as the growth of technology continues. Three of these that I found interesting were:
1. The Death of Distance. With technology growing distance is no longer playing a big role in communication. Communication is now handled by the click of a mouse and the use of a keyboard. We have improved our ability to handle business with other nations with this improved technology. Now just because you live across the globe does not mean you can not be a part of the business world. Information that used to travel slowly and was restricted in poorer countries is now almost instant and rather inexpensive. I think it's really neat that I can instant message my cousin in England now, where as, it used to cost an arm and a leg just to call him.
16. The inversion of Home and Office. As people gain a better knowledge of computers we see the growth of "working from home". People have started to work out of there living rooms, kitchens, and backyards, all they need is a good connection and boom they have their very own comfortable office space. Actually going to work in an office won't quite be the same. On television now you see so many options to go in business by yourself and make money in the comfort of your own home. I wonder if our social skills will pay a price?

This will allow trade and business to occur and a much more efficient rate.
